snakeye
Hello All, I am sure some of you will remember Maximus my new CAG, started a new thread because I noticed a small bald spot right under his lower beak, basically on his neck, you can see in pictures 1 and 2. Any idea why this has happened? or is this normal for a baby CAG? He is about 5-6 months now. Also in the pics below I wanted to show you all his wings and you all can see some loose feathers, dunno if he is molting or picking, but i never see him picking, just scratching his head and neck sometimes. Appreciate the help! Joe
nims
Hi, Very cute pics of grey. The bald spot you are referring to underneath the lower mandible is perfectly normal and all greys have them! So no need to panic.

Thanks Nims. thats a relief Looking at the other pics, and his wings, does it seem like he is molting? Joe
nims
what makes you say that he is molting? Greys usually molt when they are about a year old so your grey is a little yound. Have you seen any feather at the bottom of his cage? Birds have a lot downy feathers these are the fluffy white feathers you may notice a few of those arounf his cage andall bird have these and lose some. But this does not mean that he is molting.
