No, they chose whom they wish, regardless of sex. They will also sometimes switch their "Favorite" as they become sexually mature. There are no 100% guarantees either way.

Yep, they choose who they want.They can also change their favourite person regardless of gender.Rather like teenagers, once very close and dependant on mum or Dad they then go through a period of adjustment and relationships can change.<br><br>Post edited by: she, at: 2008/11/29 17:54

Interesting question but the others have given you the right answers. There is no guarantee who they chose.Indy my baby grey comes to me and my husband (but prefers him) and indy is female.Ice is a male and is bonded to me. This was just by chance and there is no guarantee who your bird will chose.

My Josey is female and is bonded to me and like the others have said they choose who their favorites are and it has nothing to do with gender.

 

Why don't you tell us a little about yourself and whether or not you have a grey or getting one?

My experience is the same. The Grey does the choosing and it doesn't matter. Sammy, the CAG we sat for some time was crazy for my husband. Precious bonded to both of us but since my husband died she is definately mine.
