kevin67
last night i noticed that one of alfie's wing feathers was hanging down so i just put it back under his wing, but today it must be annoying him as he's trying to get rid of it by pulling on it. is there anyway that i can snip it off or is it beast to leave him to pull it out himself. thanks kevin
judygram
Kevin, just leave it and allow him to pull it out himself, if you go and clip it then it may annoy him more, this happens all the time and they either put it back in place or pull it out themselves. judygram
Well it is probably bothering him, they are vain creatures, they like having all their feathers in place and when one is out of place it feels unnatural but he will remove it eventually, just don't make a big deal with it or he might get the idea its entertainment. danmcq
Judy hit the nail on the head. Let him remove it naturally as they would a damaged feather in the wild. It does drive them crazy until they get it worked out of the socket. You know how meticulous they are when it comes to grooming standards. :-)
