Jardines Parrot Owners

Lupa

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I went to the pet store today, I always take a look at the baby birds. I have had an empty cage standing in our living room for a month now and I have been waiting for that special bird to pick me, and finally I think he has.

I found a 4 month old Jardines Parrot (aka red fronted parrot) and he is totally in love with me and i feel the same.

I was just wondering if anyone out there owns one of these birds? They are extremely friendly babies I was wondering what there personality is like long term.

I have been scouring the internet for articles and have found quite a few that are encouraging. But if anyone owns one of these birds or has experience with them please let me know what you think

Thanks

Andrea

Hi Lupa. I have a jardines. Her name is mo and she is actualy my O.H birdie. Out of all our birds she is the funny one, you will have so much fun with yours. She does a funny walk when shes playing and talks a little. She def has what they call jattitude!!! She rules all the other birds and the cats. They have a mean bite and she doesnt like me ( the other woman!) but she really is hilarious and very cute

I went into the pet store because they told me they had gotten some baby Hahns macaws, this baby jardine was in the cage next door and started making such a fuss when he saw me, I lost interest in the hahns macaw immediately. I had been chosen. I guess that is Jattitude... :P

I will post pictures as soon as i bring him home B)

That is so sweet how can you say no when its love at first site. Tyco was like that whe she first saw me also and I had to go back 3 times before I finnished paying for her and everytime she saw me it was the same this streaching her neck toward me letting me kiss her beak and rub it she really want to be with me badley It didn't take long for her to come home with me. The rest is history. I loved to see some pictures of your new Jardines and Cocom yours also I haven't seen very many of them and would love to see some. I hear they are very Pretty one of the prettiest of all the African birds. I read some where that they are sometimes called the African Amazon.
