pyrowaves Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 So Sassy was out in the living room last night with my g/f Jamie happy as can be. letting Jamie hold/pet her even tho Jamie was only around her for a short time on Sunday when we got her and then was gone all week until last night, which makes us both happy. I went to take a shower and just left the door cracked so I could hear what was going on. Sassy jumped off Jamie, then strutted right into the bathroom. By this time I had opened the curtain a bit to see what she was doing. The water was misting out the door on to the shower mat a little and Sassy just stood an watched. After a minute she then started going in and out of the mist. and we couldn't tell if she liked it or didn't. I just thought she seems to not mind it so I put her int he shower some with me. At first she was ont he floor od the shower running back and forth, in and out of the water flapping her wings. Then we got her perch and I held on to it in there and she did the same thing, went back and forth, in and out of the water seeming to love it the whole time. shortly after it started Jamie got the video camera and hopefully this weekend I can post it online for all to see. I have read most all of the shower threads and some say there is a shower perch that can be purchased online. Where can I find this and what one should I get?

Post edited by: pyrowaves, at: 2008/11/03 02:39
judygram Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Most any of the online bird supply places sell shower perches and they are mostly all the same, pvc pipe with suction cups to attach to the shower wall, just do a google search to find them. Thats wonderful that Sassy likes showers, mine would never venture into one without being taken in there by me, she tolerates the shower but does not like it, count yourself lucky.
Luvparrots Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 This is great news Trever. Seems like Sassy is one smart and very adventurous grey. Can't wait to see this video.
danmcq Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Its wonderful that sassy seems to like showers and water. Most here don't have that fortune and have to mist them in different ways, much to their distain. :-)
she Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Thats great news.My two go in the kitchen sink and get spreyed, they love that.Just proves they are all individuals, some owners have trouble showering their birds.cant wait to see the video.

judygram Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Sassy is really enjoying that shower, wish Josey would do that in the shower, she just stands there and takes it, thanks for sharing that with us Trever.
Luvparrots Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Thanks for sharing that shower video. Sassy seems like the most perfect grey. You were so lucky to find her.:cheer:
BaxtersMom Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Well she looks right at home in the shower. 2 of my birds take showers but they didn't enjoy it as much as Sassy did. The perch is a good idea. I might have to try something like that. Thanks for showing us.
EFGriffith Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 How adorable is that! I love how you could just tell when she was done and felt all clean and happy =)
Tycos_mom Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Tyco takes a shower like that she does the same thing she loves the shower she speards her wings and just goes all out and then when she done I put her on her playtop to dry and she has another bath in her water dish silly bird never wants to dry off.
pyrowaves Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 I plan on seeing if she will take another probably fri. If it turns out i'll make another video. also thinking about giving her to my mom this weekend and will video that.
