gourdlady247 Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 we was wondering if in time we decide to add another Grey to our family can you put to greys in one cage. Georges cage is 32"deep x 36 wide x 66" high. Our kids think it would be cool to have an offspring from George, Not that's happening any time soon. I have to much to learn about George first. Thanks Marla
danmcq Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 No, not initially. First you must get a separate cage for the other Grey. Then they need to be introduced after a 45 day quarantine. If they get along at all, you will be in good shape. If they decide they REALLY like each other, they may decide to share a cage together. But, there are never any guarantees when having multiple birds in the same home.
Luvparrots Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I would like to expand on this question. If the greys REALLY like each other, do they then care more about being a couple rather than human friendly? Do they still want to talk and interact with us? Or is this connection then lost.
she Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 You can not guarantee two birds will get on at all, let alone enough to share a cage.If you decide to get another bird expect them not to get along and if they do it will be a bonus.Seperate cages are usually neededin most cases. It could also go the other way and the greys become besoted to each other and loose a bit of interest in humans, this is also an extreme example.
