bluekkiwi
Just put a deposit on our baby! It feels so real now, still trying to pick a name, here's what we have so far: For a male: Kuzko(like the emperor's new groove) Merlin, or Earl for a female: Calypso or Belle Any votes? I cannot wait to bring home my baby!!

BaxtersMom
Congradulations. How exciting. How long of a wait do you have? I'm with Carolyn on the names. I love the name Merlin. Wish I'd have thought of that one, darn. And I like Belle, too.

Luvparrots
Hey Brittney, I understand you are getting your baby in January. Are you going to have DNA testing done? I believe a name should embody the characteristics and personality of the namee, but if I had to choose right this minute I like Merlin and Belle. I get my TAG in late November and have been buying everything; it's so exciting to get everything ready. To bring my FID home I purchased a collapsible wire carrier like one JudyGram posted information about. I think it's great for long trips and for use if for any reason my grey has to spend a weekend over at my children's home or any place else. There's great information here to help with just about everything so have fun reading all the different threads on just about everything.
bluekkiwi
We will be bringing home our baby in January or early Feb. so he/she will be 16 weeks or so. I told the breeder that I was not set on any sex but that I would rather have an outgoing ,personable bird. The breeder is about 6 hours away(sometimes living in Montana stinks), so we will not get to meet our baby before they come home. I have been reading up here and everywhere I can,so I think I am ready! Any tips for the long drive home?
Carolyn
Oh my what a great picture, I would want to bring all of them home:woohoo: As for your trip home, there are a lot of bird carriers on the market out there, you can check them on the net if you are thinking of buying one now. But if not a small cat carrier is perfect, clean it down real good with vinegar and water and line it with soft towels for the ride home, some have small water dishes attached. Your baby will have lots of room to move around and you can face the door so he/she will be able to see you and you can talk to it. Also most seat belts will attach around the carrier to keep it safe and not moving around during the drive. I bet you are so excited;) Carolyn & Mika
judygram
I just love that picture of the babies, I want to grab them all up and hug and squeeze them, they are so adorable and its too bad you won't be able to visit but at least the breeder can keep you updated with pics and emails. Carolyn gave you some excellent advice for bringing it home and you will do fine I am sure, now the waiting starts.
Luvparrots
Brittney, thanks for sharing that great picture. I think its great that you get to share the whole process of watching your baby grow. Sounds like you have a great breeder who is happy to accommodate a loving new parent.
Lyric
That is a great picture, just look at those little baby faces! I also like the name Merlin for a boy- I always was a fan of the King Arthur/Excalibur stories. I like both your girl name choices, but it seems Belle is the popular one with everyone else.
