OtisMom
I FOUND ALL THESE ON VARIOUS SITES, JUST THOUGHT ID SHARE. SOME MAY NOT BE FOR AFRICAN GREYS (the durability and size) 1) Take some sisal rope, twist it up so it forms a circle, use tape to unite the two sides, and take twine and cover up all the tape, use the twine to put beads or a bell at the top, for a little toy. 2)Use rawhide sandal (100% natural rawhide, dont use colored ones) and add a twine loop at the top, put strings with beads on them. Rawhide is very durable, and a fun toy for birds. 3) Break some cuttlebone into little pieces, get ahole in the middle, and put string with colorful beads in between about 6 or 8 cuttlebone pieces. Clip or Tie to the top or side of the cage, birds LOVE This. 4) For some fun foot toys, take a thin or thick smooth stick, and drill holes into wooden shapes, put them on the stick, scatter them around the bottom of your cage. 5)Get a cotton pair of gloves, Natural (With no dye) and put a peanut, or snack at the end of each finger, birds will love to find them. 6)Saw off about 1/2 of a coconut, clean out the inside, drill a hole in it and add string/rope and beads, some cuttlebone and fun stuff. 7)Some macaw sites say this is a "Must have" for macaw and large bird owners. Go the used book store, and get a novel and drill a hole in it, tie a string and up to the top of the cage, it gets messy, but its a favorite! 8)Take an egg carton, put string in it (make a hole with a hole puncher) and waahhhla a fun chewing toy! 9)A safe edible toy is taking pasta and putting it on string (uncooked pasta) and safe string.. hang it up and they have fun for hours eating the crunchy pasta.
