Toxifera Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hello to everyone. This is my very first parrot and I am thrilled . I have wanted one for a very long time. I have named her Trixie. She is a real sweetheart. I hope to learn as much as I can about her. Thank you in advance for any replies.
judygram Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hello Toxifera and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Trixie. You certainly came to the right place to find out all you can about the grey and you can start with reading thru the many threads for lots of useful information. Ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. I assume that is Trixie in your avatar but if you have any more pictures of her please share a few with us.
Luvparrots Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Weloome, Trixie is a beautiful CAG. You've come to the right place. There are some very knowledgeable grey owners here. Ask away and you'll get loads of advice. I know I'm learning oodles!!:cheer:
tibanks Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Welcome to the forum, this is a great place to be. Glad you can join us here, there is so much to learn and you've come to the right place.
Toxifera Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 Thank you for the complements and the support. I have only had Trixie a few days and havent had a chance to take many pictures of her yet. I had a question to ask, is it ok to ask it here?
Luvparrots Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Ask away. Of course, depending on the question some times its good to start a new topic so the title will attract attention. Your call.:cheer:

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2008/10/10 02:47
Toxifera Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 I have been noticing that she has been moving away from me when I go to get her to step up. She will climb to the other side of the cage. She will eventually step up. She wasn’t that way when I brought her home. What can I do?
judygram Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 She may be testing you for the honeymoon is over, she is settling into her new home and she is going to see just what she can get away with. My Josey can be that way sometimes but she always steps up when I ask but sometimes a little reluctantly. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Toxifera Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 Thanks for the reply, I'll try not to worry about it.
Toxifera Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 I had one other question, is 65 degrees at night too cold for Trixie?
judygram Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 If that is what the night time temperatures are going to be then she will get used to it, if you are comfortable with it then she will be too.
danmcq Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Welcome Toxifera and Trixie!! Congratulations on getting your long desired CAG. It sounds like she is a sweetheart and getting used to her new home and flock. Nice photo and looking forwarding to hearing more from you. :-)
