:woohoo: Well, the breeder emailed me and offered me Gabby's sister, of course I could not say "no" that word didn't cross my mind, but now I find myself scared to death of what I'm getting myself into...How in the world did I find myself with not one but three birds in less than a year....I am so excited, does anyone have two or more birds? how do you do it? I'm scared about not having enough time to spend with each bird...please help.

Three is pretty much the norm for our household. My husband and I both take care of them.

Be cautious, though. Some people really go nuts with birds when they first get them and end up with 7, 10, even 18 as pets. I just don't see how a person can give the correct amount of attention to 18 birds . If you gave them each 30 minutes a day of one-on-one time that would be 9 hours. I don't know about you, but I don't have 9 non-sleeping hours at home even ... I sure would like it if I did though :)

If it were me I would really ask myself with each bird why am I getting them. Are my current birds getting more attention than they want (they'd rather be left alone more of the time) and I really want another bird to interact with more. Is it a different breed that you really like the aspects of and want to bring in for that reason. Maybe 3 is the magic number for you (as it seems to be in our house) and that's the number you feel comfortable taking care of.

If you really want the 3 and have the time for them, you will be just fine!!! If you decide it's too much, though ... or was just the excitement of the moment ... don't feel that you can't call the breeder back and decline. I am sure she would understand.

OMG!!! They are GREAT! I was so scared about bringing her home. We renamed her Izzy, and she and her sister Gabby immediately started babbling to eachother. Izzy was a little nippy when I tried to get her out of the cage, or for the matter even when I tried to pet her..probably scared...new place, new people...etc...but she has since started babbling to us, and will run to the door with her sister when it's time to come out. It's great. I have some issues with them nipping at eachothers toes, but that's another issue.
