liefie1
Siobha I just heard this: VHF (viral hemorrhagic) fever thats what they are caling it for now claims 4th victim in south africa. And i qoute "It is reported that the virus can kill a person within 72-hours. VHF is an extremely infectious and life-threatening disease - caused by a group of viruses, including the Ebola virus. The death-rate can be as high as 90%. Symptoms vary from fever, vomiting, diarrhoea and bleeding." (and now they want to warn people) "All we know is that it is highly contagious". "It is serious enough to be careful. We feel compelled to warn people." "Specific signs and symptoms vary by the type of VHF, but initial signs and symptoms often include marked fever, fatigue, dizziness, muscle aches, loss of strength, and exhaustion. Patients with severe cases of VHF often show signs of bleeding under the skin, in internal organs, or from body orifices like the mouth, eyes, or ears. However, although they may bleed from many sites around the body, patients rarely die because of blood loss. Severely ill patient cases may also show shock, nervous system malfunction, coma, delirium, and seizures" Hectic ne?? I just hope they get it contained!! Kind Regards Yvette

Post edited by: liefie1, at: 2008/10/07 12:
