liefie1 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Liefie is doing so well i can even see the diference in him since sunday untill now, at first he did not want us to hold him ( rather sleep in his basket) today he is runing after me and moaning alot if i put him down!! He is also much more awake and is playing even exercising his wings!! But he would eat as long as i give him food even if his crop is very full , i only feed him enough so that his crop is full. should i feed him if he wants more food inbetween feedings??? I am not sure cause i can see he is underweight. Is there something that i can faten him up with?? exept for his formula?? can i give him some soft fruit or veggies??? Kind regards Yvette
Dave007 Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 What is it that you're feeding him to fill his crop, formula? Does he want want more in between feedings or are you just asking in case he does want it? If he wants more, give it to him. You can't overfeed a baby grey or any other parrot. If he wants more food in between feedings it's because he is growing and is more active. Usually, a parrot will tell you when he doesn't want a formula feeding because he'll spit it up and that tells you that one less formula feeding is correct. He'll eat more of the other things in his bowl. That's all part of the weaning process which takes different amounts of time to happen because greys are all different from each other.
cflanny Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 Cherrios try getting him to munch on some in between feedings
