casper
No, some people say that they can visually sex their greys but the only definite way is to get them dna'd! One of my greys I thought was def a girl by the visual method but when I had the test done he was a boy. Caroline.

casper
Have a look in the search above, there are lots of different methods people have used which include looking at the tail feathers, the shape of the head and also the black rings around the eyes. What method are you using?

casper
Well just for your information, one of my greys had the tail feathers which have a greytip and go inwards so you say its a girl! He has been dna'd male! I dont think avian-biotech got it wrong.
judygram
We do lots of guessing here but when it comes right down to it, DNA is the only way to tell for sure and www.avianbiotech.com is the place to visit for that.
BMustee
All the visual sexing methods out there are just guesses. When you have seen tons and tons of greys then you do get a little bit of an eye of what greys "might" be but that is never a way of sexing...just a 60-40 guess instead of a 50-50. lovemyGreys
The only true 100% method to sexing a grey is A DNA test.Only a very very experienced breeder could hazard a guess with years of knowledge under their belt, there are visual clues & as Berna said you kind of get an eye for it,but DNA is the only fool proof method. Luvparrots
AvianBioTech.com will send you a free testing kit for blood or feathers. The testing isn't free but the kit is. I bet they'd send a kit to Nigeria, why not?? Check it out Yvette.:cheer:
Abernathy
Our breeders were so sure Morgan was a girl. Negative, dna test came back and they were surprised
