Where do y'all find 100% aloe vera juice? I can only seem to find either a 100% gel (at the drug store), or big jugs of aloe vera juice with additives (such as citric acid) at the local health food store. Help!

What I get is 99.8% aloe vera juice made from the aloe vera jel and it does have citric acid which is from citrus fruits, which is natural and it comes in a gal jug. I got mine at a Walmart in the pharmacy department.

Aha - so a bit less than 100% is okay? What my health food store carries is the Lily of the Desert brand, which comes in a gallon jug and contains a bit of citric aid and also a mold retardant: it's 99.7% aloe vera juice. Is this acceptable?

My brand is Fruit of the Earth and it has sodium benzoate (a food preservative at 1/10 of 1%) so yes it is acceptable. I know sodium benzoate is a salt but I think the amount is minute enough to not be of any harm.

I have the same kind as Judy--I get it at Walmart.

It really doesn't matter what part of the geology it comes from

Lily of the Desert

Fruit of the Earth

It could actually be called

Mist of the Moon or Angel of the Cherry Blossom

Anyway, both are the same. Walmart and some pharmacies will order it for a person if they're out of stock.

PS---that 100% gel --you should always have a bottle around in the house. it's used on birds frequently. Cuts, scrapes. bruises, bald spots, dry feey and legs etc.

Post edited by: Dave007, at: 2008/09/28 20:46
