bbrew5
What is the best way to freeze sweet corn for Pogo? On/off the cob? blanch or not? He is not much on cooked foods. Is the Indian corn they sell in grocery store safe for birds(greys)? I asked a couple people in produce and they had no idea. So if anyone can help I will greatly appreciate it and so will Pogo. I have looked in past threads and didn't see what I was looking for, Not saying it wasn't there I just didn't see it. Thanks
lovemyGreys
To get your food to store well you need to blanch it. This is essential with most vegetables. Blanching destroys certain enzymes and bacteria whilst helping to preserve the colour, texture and flavour of the food. It also helps retain vitamins. As for Indian corn ,sorry i have no idea
bbrew5
Thanks lovemyGreys Pogo isn't crazy about anything cooked so I have been using sweet corn to get him to eat some cooked foods, oatmeal, pasta, and mash. Thanks again
