Quaker Baby On the Way

Hi Guys

 

Well I got a call from the pet shop today, I've been looking around for a Quaker to add to our flock, and they have a baby boy for me, he will be fully weened around mid November and ready for me to bring home. I'm so excited

 

I have been doing lots of research online and I keep seeing stuff about Quakers having nest boxes in there cages. Is this something that they need? Shani (CAG) and the two cockatiels, sleep on a perch. I'm just curious if any Quaker mums and dads out there put nest boxes in there cages.

 

Any other Quaker advice would also be welcome

I have heard that with Quakers you need to allow them to nest or they can start to pluck.

Congrats on getting the quaker you have been wanting, I know you will enjoy it. I haven't heard that about quakers that they need to be allowed to nest, learn something new every day here.

I have thought of a few names but i'm going to wait till he is home then ill choose a name that suits him.

 

I will try get hold of the breeder and find out about the nest box.
