I just watched a case where a women was suing a contracter for the deaths of her 2 greys and macaw and I thought the point it made was worthy to know. The lady was having her floors refinished she had the birds outside, the contractor opened the windows and the toxic fumes came thru the window to the outside and the birds were killed instantly. So just a note about how fast it can happen and if you are doing anything like this in your home its best to have them completely out of the house for over 72 hours ( according to manufactures of the product (floor sealer/finish).

I felt sorry for the lady she thought they were safe outside but I cant see it being the contracters responsibility to tell you the risk to your animals this is somthing we should all know.

anyways thought it was interesting

That is very sad news and who knew that it would still be a danger to them outside in the open, thanks for posting that for us to see Cflanny, you may have saved more than one bird's life with that.

I wouldn't think being outside they would be in that much danger ether...I know they can still get sick but I wouldn't think of instent death.

What was the ruling? Did she win?

NO she didnt win, case thrown out it was not the contracters respponsibility to know the safety of fumes to the birds. Glad I did post this :)) A few days away from our loves is worth it in the grand sceme of being together for life:)
