You have certainly came to the right place to learn all you can before you get that bird, we have loads of information in our many threads so read thru them at your leisure and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can. There are also lots of book out there on greys, I can recommend one that is my favorite, "For the Love of Greys" by Bobbi Brinker, it is packed with good info. LoveMyGreys was right about the huge difference in macaws and african greys. I don't have a macaw (yet:) ) but I do have a Grey, a Conure and an Eclectus. Each one is soooo different from the other in personality and things they do, but I love each one of them. There is always someone here to help with any questions and even a "other birds" section if you are considering other birds;) Can't wait to find out what you will be getting. Keep us posted.
