Hi,

Most of you may know that Indy had a scare a few weeks ago. Since then she has been a little wary of me but is soooooo much better now.

My question is that since that day she has been sleeping in the at the bottom of her cage in a corner. She is not sick in any way (we just went to the vets) but this is something she has started to do after her nightmare.

Prior to that she always slept on her favourite perch.

Any suggestions as to why she is doing this?

Thanks

Glad to hear Indy is doing better. I agree that she just feels safer on the floor now. Maybe she'll move back up to her favorite perch, or another one in time. Until then, IMO, if she's comfy on the floor then no harm :)

My rexxy sleeps on a flat pearch (called sqwatters). I got it off ebay. If is is not on that is is on the rope that that is 2 inches off the floor. I guess I was just paranoid.

I agree that if she's comfortable where she is, let her stay there until she feels comfortable sleeping elsewhere.

Ponti actually goes in her "nite nite" cage (travel cage) and goes into the spare bedroom at night. The cage has a towel on the floor and a rope perch that is about an inch off the ground. Sometimes she sleeps on the perch, sometimes she sleeps on her belly, face down on the towel. With her bad foot she sometimes falls off her perch when she sleeps.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your help on this. I guess it will take her a bit of time for her to get back on her perch.

Thanks again!
