Hawaiisheila
Is it true that the birds have to be kind of wild to be breeders? can one put two domesticated grey together to breed? the person I bought the bird from says he was going to use my bird as a breeder but my bird was too domesticated. TheGreyMiester
My breeder told me a little about this; she did say that males that are hand fed and tamed will "forget" how to either breed or raise the baby but the females do not.
Guest Monique
My guess is that it probably depends upon the bird. One thing about parrots is they are monogomous and they are picky. You can't just put two birds together and get a bonded pair. They aren't like dogs where a male will simply breed with a female when she is in heat. Says a lot about the intelligience of parrots to me . Other than that, I cannot say from personal experience, as I have never done any breeding myself.
