casper
Hi everyone, Just a quick question to people with older greys. Charlie is 15 months now. He went through his first molt at the start of the year which seemed to go on for a few months. The last couple of days I have found quite a few grey feathers on the bottom of his cage and he has just shook now and a larger one has fallen out. Could this be another molt or is it to early? Not noticed any plucking or change in any other way. Thanks Caroline:)
danmcq
It sounds like a continuance of the first molt, with the medium size and larger Gray feathers coming out now. The tail feathers will be coming out also. Soon you will have a magnificent Grey in all his glory and the much fabled solid bright red tail. Oh, and fully flighted, if you don't clip him. :-)
BMustee
Yeah, Elmo molted really hard around a year. She is now a year and a half and is molting again. Back feathers and flights mainly.
Janfromboone
Tobie is beginning to molt his flight feathers now --- well one anyway. My gosh was the shaft big. I've only had cockateils before Tobie you see, so I was surprised at the size of the thing. Wish his tail would molt, it's ratty looking. 1yr 3mos old.

Post edited by: Janfromboone, at: 2008/09/15 00:
