nims Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Hi, My CAG indy is a little bit on the skinny side (400g) and I would like to see her put on a bit of weight she has also lost 10g since we got her so I am a little worried. She eats and plays well but would like her to be a little bigger......is there anything I can do to help her put on sum extra grams? Thanks Nims:)
danmcq Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 As long as you are providing a varied and complete diet of pellets, seeds, nuts, veggies and fruits, there is little you can do to make her gain weight. A 10 gram loss is not really anything and they can fluctuate that much in a day or two. As she grows and starts building more muscle, she will also SLOWLY gain weight. :-)
nims Posted September 7, 2008 Author Posted September 7, 2008 She does have quite a varied diet with oatmeal, pellets and fresh veg. Though she is pretty active as she is out of her cage most part of the day and she flys alot too. Thanks Nims
lovemyGreys Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I wouldnt worry to much, she is getting a good diet & is active. Her weight will fluctuate as Dan said. Some greys also have smaller frames than others just like us
nims Posted September 13, 2008 Author Posted September 13, 2008 I went to the vet today and he said that she has put on 12grams. Yay! I have added some organic baby food to her diet recently which she really enjoys! Thanks for your input! Nims
danmcq Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 That good to hear Nims. Thanks for the update. :-)
