Tycos_mom
I'm feeling so sorry for my bird right now she is going through a very heavy molt. I don't think I've ever see it this bad in the 6 years I've had her she won't even let me help her because it hurts to much to even be touched. I've been bathing her daily but I really don't no what else to do for her. She not eating very much right now either I guess she's just to uncomfortable todo anything. She hasn't lost to much weight or anything so I guess she eating enough. I cannot believe how many feathers she has dropped over the las little while. she has pins everywhere poor baby
zooman
aww feel bad for her that must be like the worst thing for a bird to go through. There isnt much you can do but spray her with aloe and keep the humidity up around her. Thats what sucks about when that happens we are at odds what to do
judygram
Fergie must be so uncomfortable to go thru a molt like that, well at least with a full on molt she will be over it soon and then be back to her old self, you are doing all you can to help, you are such a good mommie. BMustee
Poor baby...I bet she is miserable. You could try this stuff from Kaytee called Molt Ease. It's made of Aloe but it also has preen oils and shark liver oil. I've never used it but I would consider using it if I was in your shoes. It's worth a shot. Tycos_mom
I think she is a bit better today she has about 40 little paint brushes on her neck and head. She let me pinch about 1/2 of them today. so I think its getting a bit better anyway she still has quite a few that are just the pins still so I have to be caeful to steer clear or those ones they just plain hurt. Shes eating a bit better today also I made rhem french toast on muligrain bread for breakfast this morning and I noticed that she ate all of hers right away. she also ate a slice of apple 2 grapes and a bing cherry. I hope the worst is over. She just not been her usual loving self lately she just sits in her cage and rubbs her little head on her toys. She usualy is such a cuddle bub and comes over every morning after breakfast for a cuddle and a scritch but she hasn't for the last couple weeks. because of this molt. I want it to be over I miss her sweetness allot
BMustee
I'm sure she will be back to normal soon. It sounds like the worst is over. Letting you "preen" her is a good sign.
