Hi Everyone,

Alfie is doing great he flies to my wife's head:woohoo: and has stopped crash landing as much as he was.

I have booked Alfie in to the Vet for a microchip to be inserted.

Has anyone taken their Parrot for this procedure and what was the reaction if any?

Steve:)

Hi Steve two of my greys are chipped, one bleed a little but nothing to worry about, they both were back home & playing as normal within minutes of being let out of their carriers.Im sure Alfie will be fine.Good luck.

Finnigan is chipped. She had no adverse reaction to it whatsoever. She was playing and eating fine as soon as I took her home. Of course, she did get her favorite treat for being a good girl...french fries. Yum!

Hi everyone,

Alfie had the chip inserted last night with no problems whatsoever. The Vet asked that he be kept in his travel cage for a couple of hours following the procedure as wing flapping can cause the chip to fall out, other than that all is fine and he is now playing as usual.

Thats good news Steve! I am glad all went well and there are no apparent after effects.

Atleast you have the knowledge now that if your grey ever became lost, the possibility of being found and returned is greatly increased. :-)
