Lovelylew Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Nice picture. Thanks for sharing. Amazing at some of the ideas people come up with.
fairymyst78 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 My husband found the picture...and made the caption. I wish I had MY bird to take pictures of! The wait seems so long till I get to bring the new baby home!!!
judygram Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Just when do you expect to bring your baby home? I know the wait can seem like forever but the day will come.
fairymyst78 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Early November sometime. We are going for a visit with the baby on Thursday. I am excited to see how the little one has grown since my last visit almost 2 weeks ago.
Abernathy Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Funny picture Great that you're getting to visit with your baby before bringing the little one home. The wait must be killing you. At least you have lots of time to prepair though, so yay for that.:cheer:
fairymyst78 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 I have had the cage set up since May!!!! It's been torture. I am just glad my grey will be home within the next two months!!

Post edited by: fairymyst78, at: 2008/09/01 23:22
siobha9 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 That is a great cage! Who is the grey in the picture? Well at least now you can start counting in weeks instead of months;) And you actually get to see your baby grow up. In one way I wish I had done that. I only met both of mine at 16 weeks.
judygram Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 That is a nice cage just waiting for the new arrival. These two months will be the longest of your life but well worth it.
fairymyst78 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Well...we thought the cage looked empty...so I printed a picture of an African grey off of the internet and we cut it out and taped it in the cage! LOL..I know it's silly but it is a kick when new people come over...for a second they think it's a real birdy!!
judygram Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Well from here it does look like there is a grey in the cage and we would never have known any different but if it helped you then its not silly, soon it will be for real.

You are obviously well qualified to own a grey and be a member of this forum! It helps if you are a little nuts;) :silly:

Acappella Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Yep, you'll fit right in here! Do you have any name ideas for your new birdie?
fairymyst78 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Yes, the name list is long.....I really need to narrow it down! It's so hard to choose a name without really knowing the little ones personality yet. I will pick a name once I know the sex. I sent the egg shell off to avian biotech late last week. Here is my list: Girls: Lotus (the flower, which represents spiritual awakening and strength) Ivy (a vine) Arianna (Holy) Bella Kiss (beauty) Ophelia (help) extra info: Ophelia is a main character in Shakespeare's tragic play "Hamlet" who dies by drowning while in a state of delirium and mental torment. Ophelia has since become a symbol of angst for teenage girls. Star (star) Isabella (consecrated to god) Hope (trust) Chloe (blooming) Victoria (victory) Leila (Dark beauty) Zara (means dawn) Boys: Damien (to tame) Ash (happy) Poe (was the last name of famous goth poet) Draven (last name of the crow) Forrest (woodland) Jack (diminutive of god)(jack skellington) Victor (victory) Gabe/gabriel (god's able bodied one) Mr Bigglesworth (cat from Austin Powers) Boy or Girl: Willow (slender, graceful) Azrael (cat off the smurfs) Moon (Earth's only natural satellite) Cole (triumphant people) Cloud (visible mass of droplets or frozen crystals floating in the atmosphere above the surface of the Earth or another planetary body) Ghost (the apparition of a dead person) Grey (a color) Phoenix (mythical bird, that can raise from the ashes, rebirth) Shadow (a region of darkness) Absinthe (anise flavored green colored spirit)
siobha9 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 That's a long list:) ! But you have plenty of time to narrow it down. How long before you know the sex?
Broomer Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Wow that's quite a list lol. Kim and I were origionally thinking Zeus, but the name Loki kinda came to me one day, told Kim the history of Loki (god of Mischeif), and we were sold hehe. Norse mythology: In Norse mythology, a cunning trickster who had the ability to change his shape and sex. Although his father was the giant Fárbauti, he was included among the Aesir (a tribe of gods). Loki was represented as the companion of the great gods Odin and Thor, helping them with his clever plans but sometimes causing embarrassment and difficulty for them and himself. Sounded about right to us
fairymyst78 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Siobha9: I am not sure how long it takes to get the test results back. Broomer: Loki is a good name for a grey! LOL. I have a cockatiel named Zeus! I love the video's you have chronicling the growing of your baby!
judygram Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Wow you do have quite a list but a lot of good names too, will be hard to pick one but I am sure you will pick the right one.
