arik
I'm getting a TAG in a few months and need to buy a cage, hopefully without breaking the bank....This company advertises in Bird Talk magazine but I've yet to hear from anyone who owns one, and I'm a little leary of buying a cage without ever seeing how well it is made. If anyone has any input on the quality/construction of any of their cages, PLEASE let me know! http://www.qualitydiscountcages.com/ Arik
Ryan13
The is the risk of buying things online. I would recommend to find out where any Bird Fairs are in your area and buy one from there. They always have the best deals around. If you cant find one, Shop around at stores. Its risky buying things online so sometimes its not always the best thing just to save a couple of bucks. TheGreyMiester
If you are willing to wait a while, in about 2 weeks I am going to buy a cage online. When I get it delivered and assembled, I will take high-res pictures and post them along with a short review. I found a cage 32x24x30 for $280 with free shipping. The cage has metal back plates for every food bowl to reduce seed and water mess. It also has removable trays for top and bottom with a play gym on top. With greys you want more width than height, kind of like a wide screen TV.

Post edited by: TheGreyMiester, at: 2007/04/06 01:
Sticks_n_stones
I've bought cages, toys and food from birdcages4less.com and been VERY satisfied with their products. Their customer service is excellent and shipping on cages is free. Their on-line service has become my primary source for Watson's supplies. arik
Why do so few cages allow for lighting??? So many of the appropriately sized cages have playgyms on top of them, so there isn't a way to put a light above the bird. You'd think more cages would have a space that you could put a light in between the playgym and the cage top....
TheGreyMiester
There are some cages that would allow a light, but a cage should be for sleeping or safety when you’re away. The bird should be allowed to be out as much as possible in my opinion. When a bird is perching on the play gym, the light could be used then. For me personally, I am not going to use a light. Sticks_n_stones
If you don't put the tray under the playtop your bird will get a lot more light. We leave the tray out and don't have any problem with droppings in the food dishes. Watson doesn't spend a lot of time up there. He seems to prefer sitting on the top of the door, and when he is on top he doesn't sit on either end of the playtop perch -- more toward the center, so the droppings fall straight through to the bottom of the cage. Does that description make any sense??
