aveloz
Hi there.. was wondering if somebody can comment on leaving water all day for a 12 going 13 weeks old African Grey? noticed that her droppings are more watery than when was just the baby formula...I have added vegetables to her diet... lovemyGreys
It's crucial your grey has access to fresh water all day.The addition of vegetables can make the droppings loose. Are they firm at times through out the day ? What is a typical days diet for your grey ?
Dave007
I'd like to add on that proper formula is one of the items that will keep a bird's feces very solid and easy to read as far as problems being there. water will make feces thinner but in the future, you're also gonna be giving your grey many other thing that will make the feces watery. You'll also be giving things that will be making the feces firmer and finally, you'll be giving things to your grey which will make the color of the feces different so as Tracy says, it's imperitive that you always have the water there. judygram
Yes as already explained you should provide water at all times. I just love the way Dave explains things and he came out of hiding to share that with us. Love ya Dave.
aveloz
Thanks for the quick answer...Droppings are watery but firm most of the time. We still provide 3 times a day EXACT Hand Feed Formula, plus little vegtables during the day at her please..we try to leave her not too much. Also, a pice every other day of apple. Also, she has the peelets " fruti loops" look alike...most of the day. Although we believe that little she actually eats of these ones....too hard for her still.
