nims
Hi, I would love some input from all the members on what human foods they feed their greys? I want to try varying Indy's diet to include some human food if possible. Many Thanks Nims
lovemyGreys
The list is endless & the majority of the food we eat is ok for our greys in moderation, with the exception of Avocado,Raw potato,Whole cloves of garlic, onions Alcohol,Chocolate, Coffee, Salt Chocolate, coffee, and cocoa contain theobromine, which is toxic to birds. Pasta, rice, jacket potato's, veggies, cereals, the occasional piece of meat, fish, chicken bone (they love to gnaw on the marrow ) these are just a few. Here is a link to a thread which shows what members feed their greys... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/bird-food/24030-whats-your-greys-diet.html Have a look around the bird food room for additional information.

Post edited by: lovemyGreys, at: 2008/08/25 23:
judygram
Tracy is right the list is endless, its easier to name the things they cannot have than try to list what they can. Josey enjoy lots of the foods I enjoy especially at dinner time and if they see you eating it then they assume it is for them too so share yours with Indy. Suzzique
Yep with the exceptions already listed the sky's the limit. Alex loves the little red Thai chili peppers. Becarful after feeding hot peppers though. They get the capsaison all over and then it can get on you and make your skin ect burn! Alex eats dinner with us and anything on our plates is fair game. Tigerlily
yep. if i don't want tigerlily sharing my food she has to go in her cage. but 99% of the time she nicks my food. i'm trying to teach her to learn to stay on her perch which i pull up next to me whilst eating and wait for me to give her the food, that way i can at least get some peace whilst eating B)
