Broomer Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 Ok, well, the aviator, bottle of poop-off, and first aid kit were included in my 200$ assessment, so we spent $110 on more toys today hehehehe.

Post edited by: Broomer, at: 2008/08/27 22:27
casper Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Loki is one lucky grey! You are spoiling Him/Her rotten! But that is fine thats what we do for our birdies!
Suzzique Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Look at all the cool new toys! Alex wouldn't know what to chew up first! Oh and the peanut toy he was totally scared of when it was full of peanuts. I put tisue paper in it now for him to chew up. That he loves! B)
Lyric Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I'm so happy about the enthusiasm you have for your baby grey. Loki is going to be the luckiest little birdie in the world the day he gets to go home with you. I love the playstand you made, that is really great! I'd like to see pictures once it is done and want to know what Loki thinks of it too. Nice job! And, don't worry about spoiling him, that's what birds are for, and there are a few spoiled birds on this forum I know for sure!
matt314159 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 If you want to save money on toys, we have found several good toys for ponti at wal-mart and other big-box retailers. The lady at a bird farm near us suggested it...you just go and buy baby toys! They're made of non-toxic plastic, and if you use a little common sense picking out the toys, and buy them with an eye for what can come apart when they chew it up, etcetera, you can give them a lot of fun on the cheap! I'll have to post some pictures of ponti's toybox and which ones were original baby toys.
Broomer Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 Well, it's done! :cheer:  Take a look! B) still needs a tiny bit of Vetwrap, and i'll eventually replace the white vetwrap with a colorful one. But so far, it'll do (The boing will come down before he comes home, incase he doesnt have the best balance at first. We'll have it out so he can see it.)

Post edited by: Broomer, at: 2008/08/29 01:08

slmclean Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 nice playstand there and nice toys to good job.
Suzzique Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Yep love the baby toys! The best are the links! They are great for hanging stuff from and can be used over and over. I also use them to teach Alex his colors!
Carolyn Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 It looks just great, he will love it Carolyn & Mika;)
judygram Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Nice setup Bryan and I have a lot of the same toys you show in the picture you shared for Josey, that Loki is gonna be one lucky grey baby. And yes you can buy a lot of baby toys for greys too, they are a lot cheaper than made for bird toys.
matt314159 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 The final product looks great! I'll take two! (seriously if you wanted to you could make and sell those!)
Talon Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Very impressive! I love the boing hanging above the playstand. I personally would leave it up, he will surprise you how quickly he can use it. He will grip on with his claws. :cheer:
danmcq Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Very cool stuff Boomer! Now, All our Grey would like to come over and give it all a "Test Run". to make sure it's completely ready for your new baby coming home. ;-)
Broomer Posted August 31, 2008 Author Posted August 31, 2008 Thanks everyone! Matt, I concidered making them to sell for about as long as it took my hands to start throbbing again lol It cost me about $175 to put together completely (minus any toys) and the longest thing was actually cleaning all the pipes (they were grimey ) or waiting for the fittings to come in which was about 2 weeks. I already have another order of fittings set up on the website I used, for when I'm ready to make some other stuff. Talon, been thinking that myself. As of right now we have the Boing about 5 feet away from the playstand on another ceiling hook .. figured we'd let him see it, then introduce him to it when we see him hanging upside down for the first time. Dan, if you wanna come over, we're in Canada
