Janfromboone Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 http://www.synnovation.com/zinctesting.html I found this article on zinc toxicity. What do you think. Has anyone tested the metal parts on their bird toys and found zinc even though it was a toy for birds. Tobie likes to snuggle on the couch!
danmcq Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 If the metal parts are shiny like chrome, they are safe. Though they may have iron or zinc inside. If they are not basically "Chromed" or anodized and are magnetic, trash them. YOu should also check the wires that run down the center of some toys. The are raw metal and contain zinc/galvanization.
lovemyGreys Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Same kind of thread from a few days ago http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/89423-zinc-toxicity.html
Janfromboone Posted August 17, 2008 Author Posted August 17, 2008 Sorry, I couldn't find where I posted it, so I posted it again. Thanks for your "two responses". Liked your article. Is there someway to quickly check on responses to my posts? I'm not sure how to add tags.
