Pchela
So, I'm currently trying to find a cage for the Timneh. I've been looking on Craigslist and found two that are good deals but they each have some rust. Does anybody have experience with this? Is it difficult to get rid of rust? Would I be better off buying a new cage?
danmcq
It would depend on the amount of rust and how much of the metal is actually eaten away. You would need to thoroughly strip the Cage down to metal to insure there was no rust remaining. Then you would need to get it Powder Coated. If possible, it would be a lot less, work and time going with a new Cage. :-)
Pchela
Ummm... yeah. I think a new cage it is! I had no idea it would be so much work to lose a bit of rust. I was thinking maybe it could just be sanded off. *goes internet shopping for good cage deals*
shelly_quin
hi... yeah i agree with dan... By the times you stripped it all and sorted out the rust u would have have been quicker, and better buying a new cage.. Ebay has a lot of bargains besides if you get a new one, u know it will be totally rust free, and can keep the cage in good condition yourself
