dawnstimeout
I am getting my carpet cleaned tomorrow and am not sure if it will hurt my grey. Do you think it would be okay if I put her in a small cage in the bathroom?

CLB
I would think it would depend on what type of cleaning you are having done and the type of chemicals used. When I cleaned my carpet a few weeks ago I used the old fashioned rental. Nothing more than hot water and some cleanser that I tested ahead of time that had no lingering smell. Wingy
I just used hot water but if you need something stronger call your avian vet and get a recommendation.
Sarasota
To ease your mind, call the company and find out what kind of chemicals they are using. Anything questionable and the bird should be removed from the house. If you can't do that - use the bathroom you suggested and put a rolled up towel under the door and leave the windows open - maybe even use a fan. Mistyparrot
I found this yesterday. Could be a good bird-safe idea using backing soda. Steve n Misty http://www.stylelist.com/2012/08/10/how-to-deodorize-your-carpet_n_1765894.html
