loudness

ok so here's my question. I have owned a senegal parrot and a parrotlet. my sen was a screamer. he would scream so loud if i didn't let him out of his cage right away. and the p'let doesn't make a peep. How is the african grey? I'm sure they can go both ways but i just wanted to see how everyone else's was.

African greys are relatively quiet. As they get older they usually chatter rather than scream. They do tend to mimic loud sounds louder than they actually are though, house alarms, drills etc My two chat and whistle for short spells at a time. When they are chattering you couldnt hold a phone conversation in the room with them, but I have learned to tune them out when I am watching tv etc.

 

Basically they are no louder than a few kids in your home;)
