Hello Everyone!

Recommended Posts

Hello Mark and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Yogi.

Yogi is a fine looking Cag, thanks for sharing a pic of him with us as we usually have to ask for photos.

Have you had Yogi all three years or is he a rescue or rehomed grey? Do you have any other parrots or birds in your household? Any other pets? Just a few questions to get to know you better.

If you haven't already, take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask any and all questions you may have as we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can.

Hi Judy,

Thank you for the warm welcome. We have had Yogi for about a year now. We purchased him from a pet store here in east central Ohio. After some research, using his leg band info, I was able to contact Rick Jordan at Hill Country Aviaries near Austin, TX (formerly the Dean Parrot Farm). Rick confirmed that Yogi was, indeed, born there on May 21, 2005. Rick informed us that Yogi's parents were both "wild-caught" Congos, so he couldn't give us any info on them. He did say that he had hand-raised Yogi. We also have two cockatiels, two cats, a rather large burmese python, a Sonoran gopher snake, and a tank full of tropical fish. Yogi quickly became a treasured part of our family. He is very outgoing and very quick to pick up new words and phrases (He talks his head off, actually). Thanks again, Judy, for the warm welcome.

...Mark (wheelingwv)
