She looks like shhe was having the time of her life I love to see the birds out and about the really do seem to enjoy it. My Amazon Fergie loves to be outside. Tyco on the otherhand has just not had enough time out there yet to find out that its great she gets a little scared so within a few minates I end up bringing her back in I don't want her to become phobic about it so we are taking it very slowly.

Yeah…that whole harness thing is beyond me…I tried it with Rio…I don’t know if I can muster up the courage to try that again...I still have it, any sugestions on training Rio on a harness?

Thanks everyone

As far as Harness training there is a great thread posted here somewhere...im not sure where.

I cant really offer much for advice since all I did with Tuki was get it out and put it on and she was fine with it. Maybe try petting the areas that the harness touches before trying to put it on. Good luck and dont give up!

Thanks, LMG, Your first attempt sounds a lot like mine…but I stoped the attemts…however, Rio is now a year and four months old…maybe…I’ll get back to you later on how this goes and how many stitches the doctor had to give me.

  • 3 weeks later...

I really think its a matter of how much the bird trusts and allows you to touch it everywhere on its body and also the birds personality. I can put a harness on 2 of my birds the other 4 I doubt I'll ever be able to even though I can touch 2 of those 4 birds everywhere theY are not the layed back and take things as they come kind of birds They are fiesty and cheeky and little brats and they refuse to let me near them with a harness oh well their loss they also don't get to go bye-bye with mom:laugh:
