SchroedersJen
Uhhhhhh, I don't know what the heck you guys are talking about? I don't get my own plate. Schroeder does let me eat most of the food off of his plate though hahahahahahaha. My avian vet said that saliva it typically only dangerous to young, old and sick birds. Most healthy adults benefit from the extra germs as it helps boost their immune system. That doesnt mean that you should spit on your birds mouth, but he told me that some cooties form a fork arent going to kill the bird half as easially as some of the fatty ingrediants we use. I would think it's best to consult your vet. I share food with schroeder just like I would with my husband. He is a large, healthy bird and does well in his health exams. At the end of the day, there are hundreds of ways for our birds to be harmed, and I'm not certain this is toward the top of that list. I'm sure many disagree, and I respect their oppinions.
