Lauri
Hi All, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Lauri and I live in the Hudson Valley area of NY. I've had birds now for about 4 or 5 years. I have a B&G Macaw that came in to my life when he was 8 weeks old. Of course he didn't come home until he was 4 months old, and I continued hand feeding him until he weaned at 9 months. He's now in his terrible twos and LOVES to pinch me. Ouch! He can be a brat  but I love him. I have somewhere between 30 - 40 finches that I'm attempting to breed, Bourke Parakeets, Parrotlets, and two cockatiels! Recently rescued a CAG who I think is 5 YO. He has his issues, but I hope with plenty of time and lots of love we'll work through them! danmcq
Welcome Lauri and Flock!!! Thanks for the nice introduction. I want to commend you for rescuing a Grey or any other Parrot for that matter. As you know, all rescues come with baggage and we just need to overcome it with love, time and patience. What is your Greys Name? Looking forward to hearing more from you and seeing some photos when you get a chance. We love photos and videos of our Parrots here. :-)

judygram
Hello Lauri and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and this rescued Cag, btw, what is his name? You have done a fine thing in adopting this Cag in need of a good home and yes he probably does have some issues but like you said with lots of time and patience you will work thru them for the rewards will be immense. Please be sure to read as many of the threads as you can for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions if you have any and we will do our best to find you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have some pictures of your grey you would like to share with us we would love to see him and we have an other birds room where you can share some of your other birds if you like, please share one of the B&G macaw, we love the biggies too.
