Empress
All my dreams of owning a grey just flew out of the window! At least for a while! I took my man Saturday to a pet store, to show him a grey, and we talked to the people in the store, he was even making friends with a huge cocatoo, but he ended up buying two kittens. So now i am proud mummy to 2 9 weeks old fluff balls, and untill they grow up a bit i dodnt want to risk a bird. Plus we are running out of space as well in the flat... I am soooo devastated! I love the kittens, they are adorable, and very playfull, but they are not my dream birdie.... Please feel with me! Kinga
casper
Empress I feel for you! You should have put your foot down! Did he not really want a grey? Just to let you know, I also have two cats as well as two greys so when the kittens are older its still possible, I just dont have the cats in the room at the same time that the birds are out, I dont want to take the risk. I hope your dream will still come true but enjoy your babies, kittens are so adorable and a lot of fun. Try to get some pics if you can. Empress
Thank you Casper! Yes, they are adorable, but i reallyreally wanted a grey, but he does not want to have any of it, although now i can tell him: -See, the bird would not have made this or that... At the moment he is fearing for hios 47 inch tv, as one of the kittens realised this morning, that if he jumps on the mouse (PC mouse that is) the little arrow would move on the screen, so she figurted, if she jumps first on the plastic mouse, and then right In-to the tv, she might catch the little moving arrow... Bless her! But we are both at work now, and he is going to be in stress all day of his tv, and claw marks... The grey would be safe in a cage while we are away... I will talk him into a bird though... Kitten piccies to follow tonight!
lovemyGreys
Well just look at it as your dream is on hold for a while, I'm sure at some point in your life you will fulfill your dream of owning a grey
siobha9
Hi Kinga, I am so disappointed for you. But you want one so badly I am sure some day you will get one. I waited a long long time before the time was right in my life for a grey. I still can't predict what will happen over the next 30 years or so, but I knew for the foreseeable future, things were as settled as they would ever be. One day that day will come for you too. And believe me he or she will be worth the wait
judygram
I love cats and kittens too but I hate to see you so disappointed, he always gets his way doesn't he, it sure sounds like it and he is more concerned about his dang TV than anything else. Sorry about my rant on your man but men are not my concern at the moment, I have about had it with all of them. Don't you give up on your dream not for any man:angry:
Empress
Thank you, Judy, and all of you! Your support means a lot to me! No i will NEVER give up on my dreams... Used to, but not any more! Yes, he can be a BIT selfish, but so am i on the end of the day... no details! LOL I am sure i will get my grey eventually, and that will be a big celebration. But at least by that time i will be well educated about how to handle them, etc! So thank you all again!
judygram
Good things come to those who wait and it will for you too, just not as soon as you would have liked. When you do get that grey we will help you celebrate so in the meantime read and learn all you can and of course you have our full support if you need it. pearllyn
Hi Empress, That does suck a bit, 2 kittens, no matter how gorgeous they are, are no consolation when you haave your heart set on a grey!! Don't despair though, about 10 years ago, I got a conure. My cat at the time was around 9 year old and before too long, the two of them would play together! My cat was a really good boy though and had always been used to other animals - he didn't mind rabbits and guinea pigs running around him (had to watch him a little close with the pet rats though!) If you still are set on a bird, I would suggest getting one while the cats are still fairly young, kittens are far more adaptable and ready to accept new situations that older cats are. Enjoy all your animals whatever you end up with!

Empress
Ohhh.. sooo sweet of you guys! He is from a different planetary system, he has no empathy and just stubborn! But i am more stubborn, so i WILL get the bird! I will wait a bit though, as my 2 gangsters are REALLKY young! 9 -10 weeks and they are very mischievous, so they would hurt my pressious bird sooner or later, but in a few months, maybe... Plus i am not even sure how much longer can i live with the guy, so might just move the hell out, and have my sweet grey! Anyhow, i will post some piccies of my 2 gangsters here later tonight! Thanks again for all your support!
Tari
One suggest get a crate and crate train the kittens. So that when you get your bird that part well be out of the way and go a long way to helping you manage cats living with birds. And it well keep BF TV safe when your at work as well as your other belongings Good luck
