scratching baby

Hi ive had my baby grey now for a few weeks,its out of the cage on play gym most of the day but when i put her back in to the cage she climbs straight to the bottom of the cage and starts scratching for up to an hour?this is getting on everyones nerves/she has plenty of toys,is this just a tempory fase???

Well im afraid it will have to get on your nerves john The majority of babies like to scratch in the bottom of the cage it is natural for them,most grow out of it eventually

My Josey still does a little scratching from time to time and it is an attention getting thing, she wants me to come and get her, she isn't close enough I guess.:unsure: :lol:

Yes i tend to agree judy, when there a little older than babies & continue to do it, im sure it's to get your attention.In the wild it's natural for greys to forage on the ground in flocks looking for food.

My grey does the same untill i go near the door of the cage then he is alert and ready to get out but be careful and dont let him assosiate scratching with getting your attention and being let out.
