Tycos_mom
I took Fergie My YCA to the vet yesterday because for the last few days she has had the runs really bad.Apperantly she has a minor bacterial infection in her intestine the vet put her on antibiotics for 14 days and gave her a shot to start her off. she doesn;t look sick at all she still the same old fiesty bird she always was just got the runs and a dirty vent because of it Ive been washing that area allot because it really bothers her when its dirty and mucky my poor sweety hopfully the antibiotics will work quickly so she won't have to deal with this for to long. Tari
Good for you. So many people wait till their bird is very sick to go to the vet. Hopefully you caught it early and your baby well be right as rain soon.

judygram
You're a good mama Pat for acting on this so quickly since a lot of us would take a "wait and see" approach especially since she seems ok otherwise. Hope she is taking her meds better than some here that had a problem with that and hope it gets better real soon.

Tycos_mom
I cheat a little when it comes to giveing her her meds she love to be hand fed with a shringe (can you imagine 11 yr old amazon eating from a shring) talk about spoilt rotten anyway I started giving her Sprouts left over when he got his beak bit off so now I just add a bit of hand feeding formula to her meds and she sucks them back like no tomorrow LOL
