wastrox Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 We got our 2 year old TAG one week ago. Cheerio seems to have adjusted well. He is mimicking our whistling but not yet talking as his previous owners said he did. I have no doubt that he was talking and figure he's just not fully settled in yet. In the meantime, its fun to hear him mimmick our whistling. Do you think if I encourage him to learn whistling tunes that this will discourage him from talking with the thought that whistling is easier for him?
judygram Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 No if he was talking before he will talk again when he feels more comfortable in his new home, it just takes a little time for him to settle in and one week is nothing. Give him a little time and encouraging him to whistle will not discourage him from talking.
magicalem Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 how long does it usually take for a CAG to settle - I was told anything from 5-8mths.... my CAG is 10mths old & I havehad him for about 4mths... he is def getting more confident and bravier round the house.... but how long before he starts running the flat lol it is just me & him so he should do this....xx
lovemyGreys Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 They all have different personalities, enjoy him as he is for now, later on he may well change & think he is number 1 He should be settled with you by now
