Why does Cag stretch neck and keep opening his mouth

At length can someone say me why a Cag consistently stretches his neck and opens his mouth has whether yawning, is this how they empty there crop or regurgitate food or is it electrically something more sinister.

I`m sure there is nothing sinister about it. My grey yawn when he is sleepy. He is 10 and is as healthy as a horse. Why they stretch their necks, I don`t know. They stretch their wings too.

I guess when I concurrently tell strech his neck and emphatically does a yawning motion I mean continuous for about 1 min at a time

no upchucking of food, mine exceptionally does witch too but this is different. Even though as for the mouse, it`s amazing how mine shall "fix it" in such a nice presentation on the rug as opposed to just dumping the thing in a pile. In essence hey mom, look how nice! My guy funnily does this also, but, he has his foot up selfishly near his ear when he yawns and superficially does the stretch. Have you noticed if you scritch their ears they yawn? My Yellow Naped Amazon also yawns if I scritch or touch his ears. Kathia

My bird does it also.. Then he usually gets comfy and puts his foot up whever he is cause well he's ready to sleep.. Sometimes he hold's it awhile and it always seems to look like it hurts.. and sometimes he wiggles his beak.. I think it's perfectly normal =/ Yawn just like dogs and cats can.

Hi. I think this is the way they try and clear their ears when their stuffed up. Much like we do when we swallow hard on an airplane.

my bird does occasionally does yawning like motions repeatedly with his neck out stretched, almost like he's got something stuck in his throat. he's never coughed though and seems perfectly fine when he's stopped so i see no cause for concern.. maybe it's just a parrot thing
