Ice water bath

I've recently read a post on a newsgroup saying that african greys love to bath in ice water (meaning ice-cold-water).

Could this be true? I can't imagine where on nature they get ice water...

Maybe it's just when it's warm on summer, they like to get a bit cold, like any normal human being...

You sure about that? I can hardly imagine this, unless your tap water has a radical PH value or something a like, but you would have felt that when washign yourself.

Did you try other water with the same container?

Hi....I am sorry but my Sun Conure LOVES the ice cold water from the fridge water system...if he is any where near it and i get a glass of water or fill his dish he dives in and takes a shower...i thought this was a fluke but it happens every day! Sammie is my first bird baby, I am getting an grey in April, and am so excited...March is going to go so slow..., I am so glad I found this forum site, I know I am going to need alot of help when the "new baby" comes home...:woohoo:
