PanamaRed Posted October 5, 2001 Posted October 5, 2001 Our CAG is just about 1 year old, and he does not speak in words yet, but instead whistles, clucks, and makes "woo-woo" sounds....we really do not care if he does EVER speak in words but I am just curious...for all of your grey owners out there, when did your greys begin to speak?
eevaleena Posted October 6, 2001 Posted October 6, 2001 week later and hasn`t been quiet since:)))) Most things I have read seem to suggest that most CAGs do not begin speaking until a year of age. I know of one who did not say his first understandable word until he was 5 years of age. Some never speak.
TimC Posted October 6, 2001 Posted October 6, 2001 his name, but he could only say the "wheat" part. Then he learned to say "No!" Then he learned his full name, and then it was crazy from that point forward. He`s a talkin` machine!
Carbonite Posted October 6, 2001 Posted October 6, 2001 HI ALL MY CAG GUS 18MONTHS OLD STARTED TALKING AT ONE YEAR OLD HE SPEAKS ALOT BUT FROM 5TO 6 PM HE TALKS NONSTOP.
DmbKipper1 Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 Do not forget to turn off your capslock because capital letters are considered as shouting...
SarieBrat Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 No words until he was one year old, and then it came in torrents! He says well over 100 phrases now. He never shuts up. It`s kind of like a child I guess....you can`t wait for them to start talking and then it never ends. Only you`ll never be able to reason with a parrot! Jane
mrnice Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 We got Sully(CAG) when she was 12weeks old. He was trying to say hello then. Now she is 8months old and while she doesn`t have a big vocabulary, is great at imitating noises. She can wolf whistle, make up her own whistling tunes, say hello(in lots of different combinations and voices) says uh-oh, ow, wawawawaw, and tries to imitate the phone. Erica.
