granimal
I have wanted a grey for most of my life. Unfortunately, I was never in a position to properly care for one. My job required extensive travel for long periods and I did not have the time necessary for one of these wonderful creatures. Fortunately, I am now in a position where I have the time and resources to properly care for one. I have been reading a lot about greys lately and I am seriously thinking about making the big commitment with a CAG. I live in the Atlanta area and would really like to find a good local breeder. Although I will have one shipped if necessary, I want the opportunity visit the babies before they are weaned. It is also important to find someone who will continue to offer help and advice after I take the bird home. I came across Canopy Creatures. http://http://www.canopycreatures.com/Main.html They seem to be a good caring breeder on their website. Does anyone have any experience with this breeder? Thanks for your help.
judygram
Hello Granimal and welcome to the family, so glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your quest for a grey. I agree, greys are awesome creatures and you have done the right thing in waiting until you could properly care for one as they do take your time and having one is a lifetime committment. We do have several members who live in the Atlanta area but if you want to just do a search for breeders locally why don't you check out this site: www.avianconnection.com and they will list breeders in your area. Please read thru the any threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have and we will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. granimal
Thank you for such a warm welcome. Judygram, I tried the link you listed, but I'm unable to see anything other than a brief description page. I tried to register thinking that that was the problem, but when I do, it brings me to an error page. I thought that this was just a temporary problem with the site, but the problem still remains after almost 3 weeks. I did find another resource that may be of use for others in the future. http://http://www.birdbreeders.com/ I am still in the reading phase but will keep you all informed on my progress.
