siobha9
There are lots and lots of threads on feather plucking. If you do a search for them you should come across quite a few. Here is one thread that is very good http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/57890-an-insight-into-plucking.html#58060
lovemyGreys
As siobhan rightly said we have numerous topics on feather plucking, use the search facility at the top of the page to bring up previous threads.Has your grey been checked out by an avian vet to eliminate any medical issues for the plucking ? devilangel09
she not my grey shes a mates i havent had any health problems with my grey. i did search feather plucking but nothing came up so i started a thread. my mate had told me that shes taken her grey(coco) to the vets about the problem the vet said cause coco is handreared she want to be with her owner all the time and the reason for the plucking is because her owner isnt always there
lovemyGreys
Well im sorry but it sounds to me that the vet isnt very good, yes greys can pluck due to the stress from seperation from their owners, but we need more background on the grey, age, how long your friends had him/her,etc.. Greys can pluck for many reason, poor diet, health issues, lack of stimulation, any recent major changes in routine ? new family member, the list is endless.. I just tried the search facility & " feather plucking " brings uo old topics .
