lovemyGreys
Hi Jessica, welcome to the froum. After your baby reaches 6/7 weeks of age and has made the transition from brooder to cage, it is time to begin introducing weaning food. moistened Pellet food is a safe food to start weaning your baby onto with the addition of seed, fruit, veggies. Also have a separate water dish next to his food. here is a link on handfeeding, it is for a general guideline only & each baby will vary http://www.greyforums.net/forums/the-nursery/73409-handfeeding-a-baby-grey.html
judygram
Jessica, once you get this matter settled you can introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and your new grey baby.
jessica2650
So should i have hi in the new cage already cause the pet store told me to leave him in the aquarium untill he was 6 months of age.
judygram
I would think he should be going into the cage about now or very soon especially when he starts wanting to perch, nothing to climb on in an aquarium, but Tracy will know about that.
lovemyGreys
jessica around 7 weeks move your baby to a cage.Perches should be placed low in the cage at first untill your baby has mastered perching & climbing.
Lyric
Generally I believe the babies are moved into a cage once they have feathers and no longer require supplemental heat to keep them warm. Plus they start getting more inquisitive and need a new environment to explore in and perches to begin learning how to perch on. Hope this helps!
