blidner
Hello All, Our Grey Kira, who is currently wearing a collar due to plucking and significantly injury to herself has two red dots above her eye. It looks like a rash. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? We will likely contact a vet tomorrow. thanks Aron
Dave007
It's very possible that when she tries to scratch the side of face/lower forehead with that collar on, she's not as accurate in her aim with her claws or the tip/rim of the collar is diverting those claws and they're hitting the area you mention. That area is one of the most common and frequently scratched areas on the parrot and even though that collar might physically stop her from plucking , it can't stop her natural desire to scratch at areas which have constant minute airborne particles landing on face/nose/lower top of head. PS--take a damp tissue and lightly wipe those areas

Post edited by: Dave007, at: 2008/05/06 03:
blidner
thank you. I should have mentioned that it is a giant, i mean enormous E-collar. She can not reach her head at all. We as parronts have to go all the head scratching
