bslicknaz
Hi all, I have been reading threads and have got the jist about using Aloe Vera and palm oil when bathing . How many times a week should she be given a bath ? :silly: Naz
judygram
Do not, I repeat do not use palm oil on the body, it is for internal use only, to be mixed with some food and eaten. I take my grey into the shower and use the handheld sprayer on her then you can finish with a spray of aloe vera juice, it makes the feathers softer and their skin more supple. Bathe them about twice weekly.

Falconeer
Judy I found Aloe Vera in a Pharmacy here in Gel form. It was VERY expensive for UAE Standards. I am still finding Palm Oil here. But my questions is Aloe Vera in Gel is okay?
judygram
Not for bathing Falconeer, you need the aloe vera juice for bathing, you can use the gel for cuts or bruises.

Dave007
It can be purchased at large pharmacies, large supermarkets that have a large drug section, Walmart centers. It can also be ordered by a pharmacy if you ask them them to. They usually get it in the next goods shipment and will call you whaen it arrives. Falconeer
Dave, can I wash Friday now? HE is only 9 weeks old.
Dave007
I wouldn't wash him until he's about 3 mts old or a bit older. Right now, he's a baby and if he gets any formula stck on the breast, face or any other part of the body, use a damp cloth to wipe it off. Your bird should have waterproof feathers by the time 3 mts comes around. Right now, it doesn't and you don't want the bird to get a chill. Warmth is most important at his age. None of the normal dust/dander that goes with greys hasn't yet developed on your bird because of the age.

Post edited by: Dave007, at: 2008/05/01 22:
Falconeer
okay Dave I thought so too. There is some food stuck on his beak sides to the feathers. That just looks Dirty.
