dan_erobbo Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 jsut a quickie, ive seen professional parrot trainers give thier parrots small treats upon performing tricks...anyone know what these are? i cant seem to find anything my congo likes as a small treat, thnks
lovemyGreys Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 You could try pine nuts, there small & greys love them or sunflower seed, if you grey has a seed mix remove them & use as a reward, i have never known a grey to refuse a sunflower seed, but with everything in moderation Plenty of verbal praise too
judygram Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 You will soon learn what your grey likes the most and use that as the treat for rewards and don't feed that to them except as the reward.
Laurie Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Klaus will do just about anything for a walnut. You could buy them crushed up kinda small (or smash 'em yourself)...
danmcq Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 They love Almonds, Peanuts, Sun flower seeds, Pine Nuts etc. for treats. As others have stated, they each will have a favorite, just find it and your Grey will just about do anything for it. :-)
jj_qpr11 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 In a video I saw the trainer was giving the parrot yoghurt drops which might be what you saw. I have tried quite hard to find yoghurt drops for birds but cant! so i dont know if they were the sort you can give to hamsters and stuff?!
judygram Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 Josey will do just about anything for cheese, when we get the package of shred cheese out for our salads she almost climbs all over herself to get some of it:laugh:
